A Soldier's Thank You

My DH and I support the AnySoldier.com project; and I would like to share here the responses we get from some of the guys and gals who receive our packages. They are not required or expected to respond--some do and some do not. It is just a pleasant surprise when we receive a written or email response.

Mr. and Mrs. Barker:

Thank you very much for the wonderful package that you sent. We here as a whole will enjoy all those goodies that you sent. It has definitely brightened up the day having a package from home (being the states) delivered here in Iraq.

We are all doing fine here, the weather is cooling off a bit and thank God for that, in August here oh my it was hotter than, well you know the place.

Thanks again for the wonderful goodies and May God bless you and your family this Holiday season.

Respectfully,
AC1(AW/SW) Christopher L. Switzer

On behalf of our clinic, I would like to send a heartfelt thank you for the package you sent us. We truly appreciate all the support we get from back home. The thoughtfullness and generosity was obvious in what you sent. Most of us are counting the days until we can return home. It's pretty cold here...but better than the summer weather. Again, thank you very much for the package....we appreciate it.

Respectfully,

Mr. and Mrs. Barker,

Me and my Sailors when like to thank you for the care package that you sent us. We mostly receive packages from our loved ones back and home and rarely receive a package from someone that’s supporting us and our efforts here in Iraq. Thanks again and take care!!

Received, Monday, June 2, 2008:

Mr. and Mrs. Barker,

I just wanted to write and thank you for your generous and thoughtful gifts. We have quickly divided the goodies between all of us and everyone looks very content. I would have to say that the big hits are the Black Licorice and the Q-Tips. One never really knows how much dirt they can get in their ears until they clean them, and ours appear to be really dirty! It is because of good people such as yourselves and our great country that we do our duty everyday and night. We stand our ground and take the fight to those who do harm to others so that our country and way of life are preserved. That the lives of those we are here to free from poverty and oppression can know what freedom and making a choice for oneself means. To assist them in taking the fight to their enemies and preserving their homeland and way of life as well. In doing so one, day we may come home and stand tall, be proud, hold our heads high and say "We made a difference in this world and in those whom we helped." God Bless you for caring for us and taking time from your day to send us a package. We do truly appreciate it and send you and the great state of Georgia a heartfelt "Thank You".

Respectfully,

Received from: 6th Marine Regiment, Lima Co, in Iraq:
Aug 1, 2008
.......

On June 25 of this year, one of the outposts my infantry company mans....was subject to an unfortunate electrical fire.....My men lost almost everything to include their personal belongings.....I didn't feel the tragedy of this incident until I witnessed some of the men crawling and digging through the still smoldering ashed looking for a shred of family pictures and/or other sentimental valued items.....That same night, I sent a message to my wife to send me some necessary items.....; and she in turn passed it on to the family, etc. Soon, many Americans such as yourself rose up and showed your true colors....Over the next few weeks, and still today, we began receiving tremendous support from the States from a range of people from those who could only send a pillow case, to large military support groups sending laptops and IPods. No matter what the item received here, my Marines and I have a renewed faith in our fellow Americans and you've reinforced the reason why we fight for Old Glory. So to you I give my deepest thanks for your efforts and sending items to assist the Marines of Lima Co.

We will never foget your support during our time of need and will never take for granted our privilege to fight for Americans like you. God Bless you and Semper Fidelis.

Captain J. D. Anzevino

OnLine Shopping Malls

OnLine Shopping Malls
Since the first boycott of eBay in February 2005, due to increases in
eBay fees and other member restrictions, many former eBay Sellers
turned to upstart alternative auction/marketplace sites, in hopes of
nurturing a "new eBay",finding a home for their wares, and a place
where they could economically do busines.

A few alternative sites have faired well; but most disgrundled
Sellers have found that the bulk of the Buyers still have not
migrated from eBay; and that sales, for the most part, on the
alternative sites have been dismall.

As a result many Sellers, searching for their niche, have decided to
open their own independent website store. Developing a website can
be challenging; but very rewarding. There are hundreds of Online
Mall sites to choose from. Here are a few that I think are promising:

1. http://www.chshops.com
2. http://www.powersellersunite.com/hostingsignup.php
3. http://www.rubylane.com

Check them out and see if they can satisfy your buying and selling needs.

A MESSAGE FROM OBSESSION MOVIE

Today - September 11, 2008 - marks the 7-year anniversary of the most horrific attack by terrorists against the United States. Please take a moment to stop and think about where you were when you first heard of these awful attacks taking place against our nation, and the thousands of lives lost on that fateful day.

We made a declaration as a nation: "never again." We swore we would not forget, and that we would not allow apathy to set in. Yet as I send this email to you this morning, it seems that so many Americans have forgotten what took place that day, and the on-going war that is being waged by radical Islamists against the West.

I am writing to you this morning from Dearborn, Michigan where I have traveled with a colleague to host a special screening of the movie, "Obsession: Radical Islams War Against the West." (More information on this special 9/11 event can be found - HERE). We are holding this screening in Dearborn, MI because the city is commonly referred to as the Muslim capital of America. Law enforcement authorities have arrested scores of local residents for engaging in activities that support jihadists who wish to kill Americans and hurt our nation. You can see the results of a Google search for "Dearborn" and "terrorism" to see what I mean - CLICK HERE.

Some people in the media have asked if we are concerned about offending the sensibilites of some Muslims by holding this screening in Dearborn. My response to them has been this: why on earth should we apologize for asking ALL Americans to stand united in denouncing the tactics of terror, tyranny and violence in order to advance a perverted form of any religion?

The passengers aboard Flight 93 fought back against radical Islam on this day 7-years ago, and we must not ask anything less of the American people in continuing that fight until that threat has been defeated.

Please stand in solidarity with us in Dearborn, MI today and everyone who turns out at this special screening of "Obsession" as we declare that we will never forget and that we will never be silenced.

If you run a blog or website, please post a link to our website: http://www.myspace.com/obsessionmovie

And if you are a member of the media please feel free to contact us to arrange for an interview with one of our spokespersons who will be present for this event: ObsessionDearborn@yahoo.com

P.S. If you or someone you know lives in Michigan (or the surrounding area) and are willing to stand in solidarity with us and come out for this FREE screening of "Obsession" this evening (6:00pm Eastern) then please join us at the AMC 21 - Fairlane (Star Theaters) located at 18900 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. Again, for more information visit: http://www.myspace.com/obsessionmovie

AuctionBytes Launches Merchant Directory

AuctionBytes Launches EveryPlaceISell.com Merchant Directory
By David Steiner
AuctionBytes.com
August 24, 2008

If you've been reading the last few issues of AuctionBytes-Update,
you're probably aware that this Fall, we will be launching a new
publication called EcommerceBytes Insider to help merchants diversify
and grow their online businesses. An integral part of this new
project is a site we are pleased to announce to our readers today.

EveryPlaceISell.com is a merchant directory that helps buyers find
their favorite sellers and view all of the places they sell online.
For instance, if a seller has an eBay Store, an Amazon store, an
eCrater shop and their own retail site, they can list each of them on
their EveryPlaceISell.com (EPIS) page, so that shoppers can easily
click-through to any or all of them.
