Today's Important Points to Remember

1. The Significance of Tax Day. April 15th is known as Tax Day because for decades it is the date on the calendar when tax returns are due to both federal and state governments.

2. History of Tax Day Tea Parties. April 15, 2009 millions of hardworking Americans stood in unison in over 800 protests around the country. These demonstrations became known as the Tax Day Tea Party, which gave birth to a movement that speaks to millions of Americans.

3. Tea Party Patriots has been here since the start. TPP was there from the very beginning and remains a leader in the movement. With your help we are driving the dialogue that there is an excessive amount of government spending, taxation, and regulation. Government is not doing more with less; instead it is mortgaging the future of our children and grandchildren.

4. 2010 Tea Party Patriots Tax Day Tea Parties. Once again, Tea Party Patriots will lead the conversation, with thousands of local coordinators hosting local events on April 15th which will include the participation of millions of Americans. We will use Tax Day as a means to further attract, educate, organize and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with three core values of fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally limited government and free markets.

Quote of the Day:
"The example of changing a constitution by assembling the wise men of the state, instead of assembling armies, will be worth as much to the world as the former examples we had give them. The constitution, too, which was the result of our deliberation, is unquestionably the wisest ever yet presented to men." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to David Humphreys, 1789
